A Starlink V3 satellite caught Starship in flight; the tiles still set the pace
Space.com published the Starlink V3 image late July 31. Earlier reporting showed the ship making an intact Indian Ocean splashdown, floating afterward and being inspected by drone; analysts also identified possible cracked tile edges and white streaks near tile boundaries. The visual record is getting richer, but SpaceX has not yet provided a technical damage assessment.
The new angle documents Starship during flight, but it does not answer the schedule question. Rapid reuse depends on how much thermal-protection work the vehicle needs after reentry, not simply whether it survived.
Public coverage previously centered on descent and the ship’s condition at sea. The latest image adds a view from orbit, linking Starlink’s next-generation hardware directly to the record of Flight 13.
