Russia

Russia is a space power living on a deep legacy. Its Soyuz and Progress vehicles still ferry crew and cargo to the International Space Station with decades of hard-won reliability, and its launch heritage runs long. What is harder to read is the future — its lunar and post-ISS ambitions are far murkier from the outside than its steady day-to-day operations.

Russia's real strength is continuity — keeping people and supplies flowing to orbit — even as its longer-term exploration plans stay far less visible than that operating record.
