China

China has quietly built a full-stack space program that answers to no one else. It launches its own rockets, flies its own astronauts, runs its own space station, brought back samples from the far side of the Moon, and put a rover on Mars — all on a separate track from the West, and moving fast.

China is the clearest proof that world-class spaceflight is no longer a Western monopoly: it has turned launch, crew transport, station operations, lunar sample return, and planetary missions into one integrated capability.

How to read it

Judge China's program by the hardware it operates and returns, then compare that record with what it announces. Station operations, sample-return missions, relay satellites, and new commercial rules matter most when they produce repeatable, verifiable results; thinner public evidence should stay visibly qualified.
